Endodontics FAQs
in Orlando, Florida
What is endodontics?
Endodontics is the area of dentistry devoted to the maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment of the inner part of the teeth—the tooth pulp. Endodontic therapy is referred to as a root canal.
How can endodontics help me?
If you've suffered from serious decay or other damage affecting the inner portion, or pulp, of the tooth, endodontics may be able to help you keep your tooth.
How long does a root canal take?
A root canal is normally completed in a single dental visit, although a second visit is usually required to repair the upper portion of the tooth.
How long will my endodontic work last?
An expertly done root canal can last a lifetime with proper care.
I'm anxious about root canals. What options do I have?
We understand that most people cringe at the mention of 'root canals.' However, this option is often the only option to save a tooth that has suffered serious damage, so we do recommend it to many of our patients with tooth pulp decay.
To ease the procedure, we offer a range of painkilling and sedation dentistry options.
