Nutritional Consultations

in Orlando, Florida

When you are given a serious diagnosis, it is natural to wonder about your diet and how you might improve it. There are many dietary schools of thought however, and it is easy to get overwhelmed or confused by conflicting information.

When you change your diet, it may take several weeks or months for the resulting changes in your health to be evident. It can also be difficult to change your diet and stick to a new regime. At Orlando Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry & TMJ, we offer nutritional guidance and support while you make these changes.

What to Expect From Your Nutritional Consultation

You can start this process by scheduling a preliminary phone consultation with Dr. Castellini or another of our dentists. We will ask how your are feeling and what changes you have thought about making in your lifestyle, if any. We will describe the ways we could help you improve your health through good nutrition designed specifically for you.

You can follow up the phone call with an appointment for a comprehensive dental exam. If you have any metal restorations, we will explain to you the advantages and disadvantages of having them replaced. If you suffer from chronic headaches or other unexplained symptoms, we will be able to determine whether their cause is dental or not.

You may have Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD or TMJ), which has many symptoms that seem to be unrelated. If so, we can use sonography (ultrasound) in diagnosing it, creating images of the jaw joints and their related muscles, nerves, and blood vessels. We can talk about the best ways of treating it and relieving your pain. Our holistic dentistry practice has many useful tools for determining your unique needs and protecting Your Safety in Dentistry.

During Your Dietary and Lifestyle Changes

Once your dental problems are controlled or eliminated, we will provide six months of program supervision and nutritional evaluation. You can discuss this with Dr. Castellini during your initial dental evaluation and determine what the cost might be, as it is customized for each individual.

It can be difficult to make a lot of changes in your daily habits and diet, and we will provide guidance while you go through the process, which can take weeks or months.

As your nutritional program moves along, we can make adjustments to it in phone consultations, and Dr. Castellini can also answer any questions in a phone call. You and she will be in constant contact as you make these dietary and lifestyle changes and improve your health.

Some Good Books to Read

One of the first things to do in this process is to take your health into your own hands. To do that, you will need to read, read, read. Here are some excellent books that will clarify many puzzling issues and they are all available at Amazon.com.

1. The Roots of Disease: Connecting Dentistry & Medicine by Robert Kulacz, D.D.S. and Thomas E. Levy, M.D., J.D. Much research has shown that dental infection can cause heart problems. Dr. Levy is a cardiologist and sets this out clearly. The circulation system, nervous system, lymph system, etc. operate throughout the body and this book gives a clear picture of how dentistry and medicine can work together for your improved health.

2. Detoxify or Die by Sherry A. Rogers, M.D. Dr. Rogers explains how to rid your body of heavy metals, "mega chemicals", and all the harmful toxins we absorb from our air, water supply, and foods. One method she recommends is to sweat them out in a healthy sauna. She gives recipes, discusses cancer and remission and much more.

3. No More Heartburn: Stop the Pain in 30 Days Naturally by Sherry A. Rogers. In this book, Dr. Rogers explains why antacids can do more harm than good, how sugar harms the body, and how to deal with acid reflux. She offers a food plan that is not hard to follow.

4. The Cure For All Diseases by Hulda Regehr Clark, Ph.D., N.D. Dr. Clark spent her life researching disease causes and found that the removal of toxins and parasites in the body leads to vastly improved health in all cases. She gives detailed programs for liver, kidney, and bowel cleanses, steps for building your own electronic devices, and an intensive treatment regime for cancer of every kind.

Finding the Correct Nutrition For You

Nutrients work somewhat differently for different people according to the type of metabolism they have. You may do best on a vegetarian diet, on a diet including a lot of meat, on something in between, or on a macrobiotic diet. Some fruit, vegetables and meat will be better for your body than others. You probably need some specific supplements and should avoid others.

Your Cardio / ION™ Profile

Another test we offer can assess both your general health and your cardiovascular health. Your Cardio / ION™ profile is a nutritional analysis that measures, among other things, your levels of:

  • Mineral and vitamin deficiencies
  • Amino acids; and
  • Heavy metals.

This test can give us an evaluation of various aspects of your health, such as your heart health, chemical sensitivities, and any inflammatory conditions such as arthritis.
